Time flies, and you are already in Secondary 2!

I'm just dropping a note to say a big HI, and wishing all of you an awesome year ahead :)

Did I leave out anyone???

I may have left out some people, because... I think I am getting old (!!!!!).

You know what? I saw an ex-pupil outside my class yesterday and when I went out to talk to him (after settling my current P6s down with their Straits Times), I suddenly could not remember if he is a Sec 1 or a Sec 2 pupil! 2 batches of P6s, and I am already mixing people up!

So yup! Please come and talk to me should you visit next time because amidst all the other pupils who are back to see their other teachers (so many people around on the 3rd floor yesterday!), it is really hard to identify who came and who did not!

Anyway, thank you for the very thoughtful gifts :) I love the hand-made muffins (or are they cupcakes? I cannot tell the difference for nuts, even at my ripe old age! Oh, and my sister came to visit me last evening and she agreed they are yummy!)... the hand-made cookies (I had them with tea yesterday afternoon already hahahaha)... the very thoughtful hand-made stars and straw hearts... and someone wrote me little (literally LITTLE) notes in a glass jar! Of course, there's also the chocolates and the roses :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

But you know what, the greatest gift you have given is simply your presence. I can never ask for more because your thoughts and presence are more than enough to validate that whatever heartaches, worries, stress we go through while teaching, it is worth it. :)

Hello!

It's Chinese New Year's Eve and I hope you are going to enjoy having reunion dinner with your family!

Thank you all who came back yesterday! Some of you had to share a cab to MBS; some had to take a bus then train then bus again; some of you came back just in time to catch the school closing and we didn't have much time to talk!

Nevertheless, it was a joy (I was REALLY happy that you guys came back) to see all of you coming back for a visit, some with mandarin oranges and even chocolates! Now my table is full of mandarin oranges haha... I am glad that all of you are adjusting well to secondary school, with many of you saying Maths is easy! Great! :) (and can you believe I used to fail Secondary school Maths???)

Anyway, here's wishing all of you a great new year ahead! 学业进步！:)

Haha... I didn't realise that you were all dying to know where the books were found!

Secret. (Nope, I didn't bring it to the UK!)

Anyway, I just wanted to say, thank you for the effort in making that video for me! It's so sweet of all of you - both to those who made the video, and to those who had to overcome your shyness to speak into the videocamera. It's a little late but really, I didn't have the opportunity to look at the content because I didn't have access to a program that read an MP4 file.

The greatest joke was - I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT that my Macbook has a concealed CD-ROM drive and it allowed me to read the file! And all along I had the Macbook with me in the UK??!!

Gosh.

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing great in secondary school!

Yay! The books were found! Don't ask where though :P

Remember you had a box of class library books last year and you had to sign the books out when you borrowed them?

Where did those books go? I remember collecting them before I left and I left them in the box in the classroom but they are now missing!
