Hello, and well wishes :)

Hello folks!

I hope you're all doing fairly well in the first 2 weeks of school! Do let me know where you guys have been posted to, and I shall make a consolidated "Sec School" list of as many of you as possible!

Yes, I am already back in sunny Singapore and am coping pretty well with the humid weather so far. I had thought that I would suffocate to death from the sheer amount of moisture in the air once I step out of Changi Airport, but well, I have not :P

It's going to be a busy year ahead for me again, as I am now taking yet ANOTHER P6 class *smacks forehead*. As I say this, I have to settle down to do some serious planning for my lessons next week!

I hope you have had a good December holiday and a deserving break.

It is finally a new year and a new start to your school lives. I certainly hope that you are coping fine in the new schools so far and that you are not too overwhelmed by the new things as you take them all in!

I have had a good break, and is feeling ready to start school already. As I am typing this entry, I am just packing up my stuff, my experiences, my memories and new-found friendship I have forged here in the UK so that I can go back to Singapore and embark on a new year! (I know school has started, but I actually took time off the first week of school so I start school one week later than the rest of the teachers. My poor class of 2010 though.)

I wish you all the best in the year ahead! Remember, nothing is impossible. Nothing is unmanageable. When you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath and tell yourself, "Tomorrow this time, I will still be breathing the airs and taking in the sights. From now to tomorrow, I will definitely survive (whatever is making you stressed)!"

p.s. I always tell myself that when I feel stressed!

Finally, the school term has come to an end. You're officially free from school, and this year indeed, free from Maha Bodhi School.

I hope the last bits of your time spent with your classmates have been fun and fruitful, and that the various things you did helped you to realise that school is more than just learning, doing homework and exams.

I heard that Graduation Day went on smoothly, though it was a very long ceremony. Hope that all of you like the seal that was given to you, as every single one of them was personalised and imported all the way to Singapore by the Venerable. It encompasses all the well-wishes he has for every single one of you, for being part of the MBS family for the past few years.

Weekly blurbs...

Hello people!

It's been a wet week here in the UK. We're expecting lots of wind and rain all over, plus the days are getting shorter and shorter! It gets bright at 7+ am but becomes totally dark by 4.30pm... :(

School's started for me, and it has been fun so far! There are pupils from all over the world in my class, e.g. Britain, France, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, USA, Denmark etc! They are rather adorable, though cheeky as well! We're preparing for a Christmas performance for the school, so it's been a lot of rehearsals for the children. They sing soooo beautifully! :)

Mrs Song says you guys have been behaving alright, so do keep it up! Results are coming out soon, yeah? I wish you all the best! Hope to hear good news from you! :)

Hello people!

I believe the old folks' home trip and your learning journey must have been over by now!
How was everything? Do tell me more about how things went, yeah?

I just took a weekend trip to France last weekend before school starts for me, so I had no time to sit down and put an entry. Nevertheless, just to let you know, yes, midterm break has ended and I have started in the primary school here. I have yet to start teaching because I need to observe the lessons and see how things are done here before I can help. It is VERY different here compared to in Singapore!

I hope all of you are well and healthy. Heard that there has been non-stop rain in SG! Do keep dry and don't get caught in the rain!

Time

It's been a week since I last updated. I hope everything is going on well in school?

It is officially 8 hours behind SG time now in the UK, whereas my last entry said 7. Just last weekend, they turned back the clock by one hour to practice daylight savings. It is an interesting practise and though it is just one hour, it does make a lot of difference because the days seem to now get shorter and the sun seems to be setting earlier (though it is really NOT the case!). Well, may be confusing for some, but if you are interested to know a little bit more, just go find out more here!

School resumes next week for the pupils here. They jus had a mid term break. I will start off by observing the classes before I get to teach! Till the next update! :)

I promised I would try to update the blog a little, so here I am, adding an entry to make the blog move a little (haha)!

There hasn't been much happening around, as I am still trying to recover from the jet lag. It is 7 hours behind Singapore time here in the UK, so just imagine I have to convince myself NOT to go to sleep at 7pm local time (2am SG time) because if I do so, I will wake up at 3am (10am SG time) local time. I really need to sleep at the same time as the Brits do, and wake up like them too.

In the time I spend being awake, all I have been doing is read, surf the net, have some nice coffee and then read again. Which is why, there's only one picture right on top. Yes, that picture basically summarises up my life thus far!

I hope all's well for you. Have a well-deserved break while your papers are being marked and scrutinised by all the teachers in SG these next few days! :)

Oh yes, thank you for all the thoughtful cards and messages! I still cannot view the video clip (I don't have softwares to view mp4!!), but I can already feel your thoughtfulness and effort! :)
